Benefiting the Kauai Community
The new KIUC Charitable Foundation website is coming soon. It will have more information about the Foundation and it's programs. Meanwhile this page will give you a brief introduction.
The KIUC Charitable Foundation provides scholarships for Kauai students and helps pay utility bills for customers with financial hardships through our The Neighbors Who Care Program.
What We Do & How We Do It
The KIUC Charitable Foundation was created so that money collected on Kauai stays on Kauai for the benefit of our community rather than going into the state general fund. If KIUC is not able to refund money to a customer (after trying hard to return it of course), the money goes to the KIUC Charitable Foundation to benefit all of Kauai through our programs and services.
We are also grateful for any donations from the community to help fund our programs.
Who We Are
Every member of KIUC—everyone who uses electricity on Kauai—is a member of the Charitable Foundation. The foundation is managed by a 9 personal board of directors. This board is composed of three community members, three KIUC employees and three members of the KIUC board.
